Brouwer, W.C.
Willem Coenraad Brouwer (1877-1933) – A rare ceramic vase in a bright intense green colour with a mat soft glaze. The vase has an applied ear in the shape of a dragon. The sculptural appearance can be seen as a prequel on his stylized building ceramics which he produced somewhat later. In 1900 he became a member of the artist group “‘t Binnenhuis” who aspired for an innovative design. The vase is executed in ± 1903 in Leiderdorp (Vredelust). The height is: 27 cms. It has some minor restaurations.
