Bronze “Poissons” vase

A bulbous bronze vase with a decoration of fishes (“Poissons”) similar/identical to the ‘Poissons” vase designed by R. Lalique. A non-verified story about this vase is that the design was taken and copied by a former Japanese employee of Lalique and taken back to his home country and hence had it made in bronze. They occur now and then, some with a workshop stamp (Shobido). This one, however, has not. An identical one is in the collection of the ‘Nihon no Hnaga” museum in Amsterdam.  Period ± 1930-1940. Height: 24 cms. (See: category Art Deco glass).
