Walter, Amalric (1870-1959)

Walter, Amalric – This glass artist was one of seven who mastered the “Pâte-de-verre” technique. He was the son and grandson of porcelain decorators at Sèvres. He set up a “pâte-de-Verre” section at the Daum factory in Nancy, where a special kiln was built for him. He worked together with some renowned artists of the period such as Henri Bergé and Jules Cayette, Jean Descomps et Alfred Finot. The items was distributed in Paris through the firm of Arthur Goldscheider. This lovely ‘canard’ was designed by Walter in the early twenties. Height: 7 cms., Width: 8,5 cms., depth: 5 cms. Good overall condition.
